The thing of it is , You have to maintain a "C" or a "B" average to get into College football . Then and maybe then if you maintain the same through college you have too be chosen to play. So there it is EDUCATION is the bssis for sports.
Good luck getting into Football !!!

All I know is that it'll take a lot of drive, determination and sacrifice to be a pro football player. I never had that kind of desire. That's why I became an electrician. Now all my friends want me to fix their *ucking home appliances for free. Rolling Eyes

At least if you're a pro football player, nobody would ask..."BTW, would you mind coming over to look at my scrimmage line? My quarterback is on the fritz and needs a tune-up." Laughing

LOL, WHAT?!?! That last line was hysterical!

Yeah, you could say you know a future NFL Wide Reciever. You could even say he's a future NFL HALL OF FAME Wide Reciever.

Then you could say he's white and they'd be even more impressed.

It's not that far from the truth. If you go into any kind of career that's resembles anything close to a service to the community, you can bank on the possibility that you'll be roped into doing something for nothing by your friends.

Electrician, mechanic, medical. Of course, if you go into Retail, this doesn't happen. You also don't make very much either. I never heard of anyone getting rich working at a seven-eleven.

Even as a musician, I'm asked to play at parties. When I talk about my pay, their eyes glass over... Oh, you want to be paid?!?

    Well-no-DUH!

    People want something for nothing.

Or to add in here . You give them a price and they look at you like you have two heads or something.....
OOOhhh !!! thats way to much for me to pay. Well then why did you even ask for a price if you knew you didn't
    want to pay in the beggining .. D U H !!!

Well, the same thing goes for you too Nighthawk. Not too many people ask you to drop by and take a look at their rollercoaster. Geeze. I wish I had enough smarts to become an engineer. Half my life is gone and I'm an electrician/commercial artist. If it's not "fix my toaster", it's "make a business card for me".

Someone want's to pass a footpall to Luketh @ a party:

    Guy: Hey Luke, go long!

    (Luke goes long.)

    Luke: Ok pass it!

    Guy: Go longer!

(Luketh hops over a short fence and is running across the neighbor's yard and knocks over a birdbath.)

    Luke: Ok pass it!

    Guy: No, go LONGER!

Luketh jumps through a hedge... you hear a cat scream, garbage cans being knocked over, and dogs barking)

    Luke: OK, PASS IT!

(The guy passes a wobbly spiral, and it disappears over the hedge.)

    Luke: OW! My EYE!

No, it'd be Brett Favre's 40th retirement party and Brett's like:

Yo, Luke, let's toss the pigskin
    Me: A'ight, old man.
Brett: Hah, just for that.. go long.
Me: (Runs 40 yards away) Pass it!
Favre: Nah, I can throw farther.. go LONG!
Me: Gotcha (Runs 40 more yards away) Now pass it!
    Favre: FARTHER!
Me: You're crazy.. you can't throw this far! (runs back to about 140 yards from Brett) HIT ME!
Favre: WATCH THIS! (Chucks a perfect spiral 160 yards)
Me: Holy sh$^! (Runs but can't get under the ball, dives and catches it with one hand)
Favre: WOW, KID! YOU'VE JUST PERSUADED ME TO GO PLAY WITH YOU AND THE ATLANTA FALCONS, I'M NOT RETIRING!
    Me: Oh god...
